Series: Stand Alone Sermon

One of our Four Pillars at Harvest is “Lifting high the name of Jesus in worship.” This commitment to worship keeps us focused on Jesus Christ as the center of our church. Until we can get the vertical relationship wth Christ right our horizontal relationships will be out of order. Pastor Gary Becker shares with us from Hebrews and encourages us to “Stay Vertical.”

Many sermons challenge us to be bold and share our faith with others. In this sermon Matt Rumbaugh gives us practical tips on how we can make sharing our faith an every day reality. 

Pastor Jeff Hoenshell shared with us from Acts 14:8-23. Paul’s example in the book of acts gives us encouragement and motivation to continue to preach the gospel.

God has a mission for the church. God has a mission for you. The minute someone decides to follow Jesus Christ they are given a role in the mission of Jesus Christ. This Sunday Pastor Dan and Matt Rumbaugh share with us a vision for the role of Harvest Fairfax in fulfilling God’s mission to make disciples in all nations. 

This week a member at Harvest Fairfax, Scott Muchow shared with us a sermon about God’s holiness. What exactly is holiness? How do we picture or even begin to understand it? Many artists have tried to depict God. But, even the most masterful painting can not fully capture His holiness. Thankfully, our amazing God has given us a glimpse of his holiness through his Word. Today that glimpse is found in Isaiah 6. 

We are winding down our theme for the year. Our theme for the 2013 – 2014 year has been “Advance: Pursuing What Matters.” As our church celebrates it’s 2 year anniversary it is a good time to ask ourselves, “Does my faith in Jesus make a difference in my life?” 

Sunday’s message came from to 1 Peter 1:22-2:5. As we start the new semester you CAN pursue what matters.

Matt Rumbaugh is our guest speaker this week. His message to us comes from 1 Samuel 15. King Saul continues to disobey God by living by his own terms.  Matt shows us how we can also fall into this practice and how we might avoid it through obedience to God’s Word.
