By God’s grace our church has been growing this year. Exciting as that may be, numbers do not automatically mean mature growth in our people. Are we fulfilling our mission to glorify God by making disciples? At the heart of our uncommon community is a deep desire and need for God’s Word. The Bible is what we need if we’re going to see mature disciples growing and multiplying at Harvest.

We are proud to live in Northern Virginia. Except for the traffic, we love it here. For everything that we love there is one thing that is universally difficult to find, and that is, community. Because of Jesus’ work on the cross we are a part of the body of Christ. Because of Jesus you are part of this Uncommon Community, and we belong together.

Where are you looking for satisfaction? How would you finish this sentence, “If I could just have ______, then I’d be happy.” Psalm 63 tells us where we should be looking for satisfaction in life. When we seek God and see Him, His glory is satisfying and it makes us sing.

We love living in Northern Virginia. The diversity of culture and economy makes the DMV truly unique. Within our love for our community there is also a desire to see the lives of Northern Virginia transformed by the glory of God. God’s glory is like a waterfall, overwhelming yet satisfying. When we experience His glory we will be changed.

The people of Ninevah repent and God withholds his wrath on the city. This should mean some kind of celebration from Jonah right? Wrong. Jonah has a spiteful heart. A spiteful, self-centered heart is sick. As he has throughtout the entire book, Jonah holds a mirror up to our lives and makes us examine our hearts.
