Praises

  • Traveling mercies – After 3 flights and 29 hours of travel, I am safely in Fukuoka, praise the Lord! He was so kind to smooth out all of the travel details along the way, and a huge praise… I was able to sleep on all 3 flights 🙂

  • Settling in – After coming with the FBC short team back in May, the Fukuoka area where most of my time will be spent this summer feels familiar, and it felt as if I was coming back to a second home! I am settling in quite quickly to my short-term Airbnb, within walking distance of the church and church office, and of course getting a daily 7/11 fruit or greens smoothie (if you know you know).

  • Baptism celebration – What a joy it was to celebrate a baptism on the very first Sunday of my summer here in Fukuoka! It was such a beautiful way to begin this time of serving, praise the Lord for one more sister in Christ!

Prayer Requests

  • BEING with Jesus – Please pray for a calm, joyful heart that keeps delighting most in Jesus before I look to my thoughts, tasks, and to-dos! It has been such a joy to get to lean on Him in a fresh way, and I’ve loved starting my morning with worship music and tea time and prayer in the early hours (yay jet lag!).

  • Fukuoka Church Team – Please pray for David, Alyssa, Mai, William, Lydia, Lilian, and Shania by name! Pray for strength and encouragement from the Lord, and for energy and joy.

  • Faithfully serving – Please pray for strength, energy, zeal, clear thinking, and a quickness of learning for all of the tasks I will be assisting with for Worship Team as well as Audio/Visual team!

  • JAPAN – Please pray for the PEOPLE of Japan, that God would bring growth from seeds planted, that hearts and souls of Japan would turn TOWARDS JESUS, that eyes would be opened to the Gospel! Pray for outreach opportunities and that relationships would be built and strengthened! Pray for English Connect on Thursdays at 7pm!
“No return beyond this point”. I had so much joy in the moment of reading this, and a “Here we go, Lord!” excitement in realizing that a 4-year prayer of serving in Japan had now arrived as reality.
The MCC Fukuoka team met me at the airport to welcome me and help transport my luggage to my Airbnb.
THE 7/11 smoothie, one of the best gems of the konbini (Japanese convenience store) and one of my favorite daily treats.
A nearby shrine – one of countless in the area surrounding my neighborhood.
Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, one of the BEST culinary creations I have ever tasted, and my favorite food in Japan so far.
STAIRS – the best workout while living in Japan.
Celebrating a baptism! Praise the Lord for newness of life!!
