ladies’ connection ladder
We’re so excited to offer this unique fellowship opportunity for the ladies of our church! Fostering community through fellowship opportunities is one of the primary emphases of our Women's Ministry. Amidst the great diversity of the Church, our unity in Christ enables us to participate with one another in the Christian life to produce a mutual cooperation in God's worship, work, and will being done in the world (Ephesians 2:13-22, Philippians 2:1-2).
WHAT IS A CONNECTION LADDER?
A Connection Ladder matches groups of two or three different women for a two month period to help foster new relationships and set aside time for deeper connections within our church. Sometimes meeting new people can be the hardest part, so we’re here to cut through the “ask” and make it happen for you!
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Connection Ladder is for women who regularly attend Fairfax Bible Church and are seeking deeper connection with other women in our church. If you are new to our church but plan to start attending regularly, the Connection Ladder is also a great opportunity to start getting to know some of the women in our church.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
At the beginning of every other month, you will get matched up with one or two other women in our church who have signed up to participate. We leave it up to you to work out the details of the how, when, where of the meet-up. That may mean sharing coffee or a meal together, going for a walk, or setting up a Zoom meeting - it’s up to you to decide what it will look like. You’ll work your way down the “ladder” of all the other participants and hopefully foster some new ongoing friendships!
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS?
When you sign up, you are making a commitment to an intentional fellowship opportunity. One of the beautiful things about fellowship is that we get to participate in the Christian life together with a diversity of people with unique backgrounds, gifts, and passions, because we have unity in Christ. We ask that you honor this commitment with a genuine desire to seek connections with other women who are both similar and different from you! This also includes a commitment to meet with your connection(s) at least once during the period that you are matched up with them. We know that life can get busy, but we ask that you remain flexible to schedule a time to meet up. If you know that you have a busy season coming up or you won't be able to uphold that commitment, we ask that you reach out to Kelly Cabana ahead of time so that you can be removed from the list or take a break from being matched with other participants.
WHAT IS NEW IN 2024?
We are excited for a few small changes in the Ladies' Ladder based on feedback that our Women's Ministry has received. This year, we are increasing the connection period to two months instead of just one. Connections will be matched up every other month starting in February. This will give connections more flexibility in scheduling a time to meet up. Connections are expected to meet up at least once during the period, but we also encourage you to meet up as often as your schedule allows throughout the connection period to foster deeper relationships. Additionally, whereas past connections have only been one-on-one, this year you may have a group of three. This allows for flexibility in adding new participants throughout the year, and also takes off some of the pressure of a one-on-one meeting. Finally, we will be sending out conversation starters with each connection period that groups can optionally use to help prompt intentional conversation.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO SIGN-UP?
Sign-ups are always open and will be ongoing throughout the year. When you sign up, you will be added to the next rotation of connections, which occurs every other month starting in February.
